Calling all Budgets

You thought the budget talk was over, didn’t you? Yah, nope. I’ve talked to more and more people about budgeting and have realized that I just don’t have an effective base for comparison. I mean, I have my own budget, but that was created essentially by watching my spending for the last few months and analyzing my spending. However, I don’t hold it out as any sort of standard; my personal spending of the last few months is certainly no reasonable basis for creating a budget. Even if was I was the most frugal, I am at times overly frugal (or just clueless)–my budget doesn’t even include clothing or household items.

Anyway, I’d love to see your budget, and you’re very welcome to contribute it anonymously if you want to contribute but don’t want to put your junk out in the open. Basically, I’m trying to get some information together for the purposes of my budget… and for helping other young single people in Gainesville, FL budget (not that I don’t care for anyone else, but I know budgeting changes from place to place and from life status to life status).

My “budget”

Rent $275
Utilities $50
Phone $50
Auto $259
Gas $90
Repairs $100
Insurance $69
Food $225
Restaurant $75
Groceries $150
Savings $150
Entertainment $25
TOTAL: $1034

Oh, and by the way–there is tithing/giving included in my budget, but I feel a little less comfortable putting that online here. That, and I wish WordPress would let me style that stupid table with CSS. OK. Done.
