hmm... i have always been frustrated by the so called say a prayer thing. i mean saying prayer has nothing to do with it. surrendering has everything to do with it. sometimes that does come in the form of a prayer and other times in the form of an action.
anyway i feel like the whole "say a prayer with me" thing has made what we now see as fire-insurance... sure i said a prayer one day and therefore i am saved. i have a hard time believing that since Jesus never mentions such a thing.
that's all i think

I find it interesting that on many occasions the gospels show a man or woman coming to Jesus with an action or a statement showing how they've been impacted by his presence and Jesus would say something like, 'today salvation has come to this household' but they never technically prayed as we think. Maybe they did, I mean, they were talking to God and being doers of what he said. Sometimes people did, like peter confess he was God, and he would respond that it was a god-given revelation. So, I suppose either one but He does make it clear that such words (prayers) to God are provoked by Him as well. He is both the originator and the destination. The source and the objective.
